Head Coach George Horton
On the win:
"We had good hits and ran well today. This win is another example of why we focus on our running game - because we can put much pressure on our opponents. We executed well and today USC couldn't hold our runners very well, but they showed a good effort and had some power. It got a little bit nervous in the sixth inning, but we handled it well. Any time you can extend the lead is good. We didn't give up and that's important. I think we are starting to settle in our positions and as a whole team. I do think it started in the ninth inning against ASU. We realized that we can play anyone in the country and can't be afraid. My players have responded very well to that and I think we can see the positives already. It was a fun game to watch and I hope for the same tomorrow. We had a really good crowd tonight and we enjoyed being back home."
On Tyler Anderson:
"Tyler was a little bit out of balance today, but he ended up with good results. I think he pitched a little emotionally today. We will talk later and he is a solid player, I know he will be fine."
Oregon's #6 KC Serna
On the win:
"It's a great feeling to win. It's a new year and a good year. Many things have changed in the last year. I am just doing whatever I can to help my team win. A lot of our guys got to play and it's good for our experience as a whole team. Winning on a Friday night is always good and it gives us much confidence. I think we have been having good plans for each game that we keep sticking to. We having been having so much fun playing. It feels great to be back home. I am looking forward to playing here for the rest of the weekend."
