Ducks Announce $2 Saturday Season Special
01/26/11 | Women's Basketball
EUGENE – In honor of Oregon's inaugural season at Matthew Knight Arena, the women's basketball team will be offering $2 Saturdays for the remainder of the year.
For Oregon's final three Saturday home basketball games at Matt Arena, beginning with this weekend's game against California, the Ducks will sell $2 general admission tickets.
“From the beginning of the year, the department has considered various options to offer women's basketball fans and our surrounding community a way to experience Matthew Knight Arena and our entertaining basketball program,” Oregon Athletics Director Rob Mullens said. “After Sunday's successful event, we thought it would be great to thank the community and continue the promotion for the remainder of the year.”
On Sunday, Oregon set a new Pac-10 women's basketball attendance record as 12,320 fans sold out Matthew Knight Arena and watched the Ducks capture an 81-72 Civil War victory over the Beavers in front of a national-television audience.
The $2 offer begins this Saturday as Oregon hosts California at 12:30 p.m. It will be Junior Duck Day at Matthew Knight Arena, as Cheer with the Ducks and the National Girls & Women in Sports Day Fan Fair highlight the pre-game festivities.
Oregon's other Saturday games include a 2:00 p.m. tip-off against USC on Feb. 12, and a 2:00 p.m. tip-off on senior day, hosting Arizona on March 5.
Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE, calling 1-800-WEB-FOOT, or in person at the Casanova Center Ticket Office. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the game at the Matthew Knight Arena ticket windows 90 minutes prior to the game.
Fans that have already purchased general admission tickets for the $2 Saturday games at the regular-season price can call 1-800-WEB-FOOT and receive a credit toward tickets to future Oregon women's basketball games.
