Head Coach Dana Altman
Opening statement...
"I thought we played really good basketball today. The first thirty minutes our activity defensively was the best we've had all year. We played hard and moved the ball well. We played a lot better tonight than we did in our previous games."
On Johnathan Loyd...
"Loyd gives us tremendous energy."
On the recent departure of Jabari Brown...
"He came in yesterday and told me he had decided to leave. I don't want to him to leave and I did try to talk him out of it. I asked him to reconsider and the door is still open. It is his decision and he is a talented young man. He is a good basketball player and I want him to be a good basketball player here. I am not closing the door and I sure would like to work with him. He was frustrated and I don't think he got off to the start he wanted to here."
On Tony Woods' injury...
"Tony is getting his ankle x-rayed and we're going to check it out. Hopefully it will be okay but it is real doubtful for him to play at Nebraska if his ankle is still sore. He is a tough kid and it was bothering him or else he would have been out there."
On E.J. Singler's game...
"It is good to see him get a good stroke and you count on your returners to carry you through. They have more experience and know where the shots are coming from. Our returners are playing with a much greater comfort level than the new guys and it just takes time."
Oregon Players
Forward E.J. Singler
On pressuring in the first half...
"We want to come out and put pressure on them in the first half. John (Johnathan Loyd) and Bruce (Barron) had great energy and pressured a lot, we give them a lot of credit."
On cutting down turnovers in this game...
"We slowed down our pace. We really emphasized turnovers in practice and we made up our mind that we're going to take care of the ball."
On his rhythm in today's game...
"I did feel in rhythm today. I haven't gotten open well in the last couple
games, but today when I got open I felt confident with the shot."
On how to continue playing well...
"We need to keep up our enthusiasm and passion. Our defense played well today and it pushed our offense to get open and play well."
Forward Jeremy Jacob
On playing well today...
"We started to get together and really well, we practiced well this week."
On Jabari Brown leaving the team...
"We just found out after the game. We knew something was wrong because he wasn't in practice or at the game, but Coach told us nothing was set in stone yet."
On getting the crowd excited and into the game...
"We needed to light a spark for the crowd and Bruce gave us a spark by diving on the floor twice."
On what's next...
"If we cut down turnovers and play great defense and play with confidence, we'll be great."
