BUSY HOME SCHEDULE STARTS THIS WEEK
Oregon will host its final six non-conference games (in a 13-day stretch) beginning with the upcoming games with Fresno State and Portland State. The Ducks will then face Virginia (Dec. 18) before hosting the three-day Global Sports Hoops Showcase with games against North Carolina Central (Dec. 20), Prairie View A&M (Dec. 21) and Stephen F. Austin (Dec. 22).
BALANCED SCORING ATTACK THROUGH SIX GAMES
In six games this season, Oregon has been led in scoring by four different players. That list includes: Tony Woods (12 points at Vanderbilt), Garrett Sim (17 points vs. Eastern Washington; 20 points at Nebraska; 16 points vs. BYU), E.J. Singler (21 points vs. SE Missouri State) and Johnathan Loyd (24 points vs. UTEP).
In addition, eight different players have reached double-figures in scoring this season. This has been done four times by Singler and Sim, twice by Woods, Olu Ashaolu and Jeremy Jacob, and once by Loyd, Carlos Emory, Brett Kingma and Tyrone Nared.
Three different Oregon Ducks have dropped 20 or more points in a game this season (Sim, Singler and Loyd). Through six games a year ago, only one UO player had scored 20+ points in a game (Joevan Catron, who did it three times in the first four games in 2010-11).
DEVOE JOSEPH ELIGIBLE TO PLAY
Senior guard Devoe Joseph will play his first game as a Duck on Saturday against Fresno State. Joseph, from Toronto, Canada, played three seasons and 76 total games at Minnesota before transferring to UO last December. The 6-4 combo guard has been practicing with the Oregon basketball program dating back to last year.
Joseph is one of just nine players in the history of the Minnesota basketball program to have 300 points and 100 assists in a season (329 pts, 105 assists in 2009-10). As a freshman in 2008-09, he had 31 made 3-point field goals, the fifth-most by a Gopher freshman.
Joseph played his prep basketball at Pickering High School just outside of Toronto. He led PHS to a 70-2 career record and was a three-time Canadian High School Player of the Year and three-time Toronto Star High School all-star. Joseph played AAU basketball for Grassroots Canada.
CORE GROUP OF RETURNERS LEAD THE WAY EARLY ON
UO's core group of returners - seniors Jeremy Jacob, Tyrone Nared and Garrett Sim, junior E.J. Singler and sophomore Johnathan Loyd - have played an integral part in jumping out to a 4-2 record.
Five of UO's top seven scorers are from that group: 1) Singler, 12.3 ppg; 2) Sim, 11.8 ppg; 3) Loyd, 8.8 ppg; 6) Jacob, 5.8 ppg; 7) Nared, 5.7 ppg.
And of the seven best field goal percentages on the team, five are players who started games for UO in 2010-11: 2) Nared, .571; 3) Sim, .537; 5) Singler, .489; 6) Loyd, .472; 7) Jacob, .387.

Three of the team's top five rebounders this year include: 1) Singler, 4.7 rpg; 4) Nared, 4.0 rpg; 5) Jacob, 3.8 rpg. The top three in steals are: 1) Loyd, 1.3 spg; 2) Sim,1.2 spg; 3) Singler, 1.0 spg. And the top three assist men include: 1) Sim, 4.2 apg; 2) Loyd, 3.8 apg; 4) Singler, 2.2 apg.
SIM RANKS AMONG PAC-12 STATISTICAL LEADERS
Senior guard Garrett Sim is averaging a team-best 12.3 points and 4.2 assists per game in logging a team-high 183 minutes (30.5 mpg). Sim ranks atop the Pac-12 Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.8; 25 a, 9 to) and free throw shooting percentage (.909, 20-of-22). In addition, he ranks second in field goal shooting percentage (.537, 22-of-41).
In 108 career games, Sim has tallied 738 points and 190 assists which both rank seventh among the Pac-12's active career leaders. In addition, Sim's 122 career 3-pointers ranks second and his 76 career steals ranks sixth among active leaders.
