Hickle Tied For Sixth in Season Opener First Round

VAIL, Colo. – The University of Oregon women's golf team opened its 30th season in school history tied for second place Monday against an impressive 18-team field in the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
Overall in the first round's team results, UC Davis (first, six-over 294) held a three-stroke advantage over Oregon and Coastal Carolina who were tied for second-tie with nine-over scores of 297. Four other teams followed within four strokes – Denver (fourth, 299), Ole Miss and Pepperdine (fifth-tie, 300) and Oklahoma (seventh, 301).
Individually on the par-72, 6,405-yard Red Sky Golf Club course, the Ducks featured all five entries in the top 40 overall.
Junior Cheyenne Hickle shot an even par 72 and was tied for sixth overall. UO also counted scores from senior Ashley Edwards (10th, 73), sophomore Raphaela Dyer (32nd-tie, 76) and freshman Cali Hipp (32nd-tie, 76), while freshman Cassy Isagawa rounded out the Duck contingent (39th-tie, 77).
Hickle turned in an eagle on the second hole, four more birdies (hole #6-7, 17-18), seven par scores (#1, 3, 8-9, 11-12, 16) and six bogeys (#4-5, 10, 13-15).
Edwards added three birdies (#10, 16, 18) to go with 12 par scores (#1-3, 5, 7-9, 11-13, 15, 17), two bogeys (#6, 14) and one double-bogey (#4).
Dyer added four birdies (#5, 11-12, 18) and an eagle (#4), and other Hipp and Isagawa added three and five birdies, respectively, while Isagawa also had an eagle (#2).
For the Gilbert, Ariz., native Hickle it was the 17th time that she has
carded UO's low round in a tourney. Her fifth round at par as a Duck
also was only two strokes shy of her career low.
Overall on the individual leaderboard, three players were tied for first place with three-under scores of 69– Natalie Gleadall of Ole Miss, Kaitlin Higginbotham of Coastal Carolina and Grace Na of Pepperdine.
Two other players – Chirapat Jao-Javanil (fourth, 70) and Charlotte Lorentzen of Georgia State (fifth, 71) also finished under par.
