Head Coach Dana Altman
Opening statement...
"It was a game we won on offense, but not defense. We shot the ball well, 11-for-20 and 15-for-18 from the line. I am pleased with how we moved the ball, but defensively it was not a good effort. We turned around this afternoon and gave away a lot of easy baskets."
On E.J. Singler...
"E.J. defensively did good things. Defensively, he really picked up in the second half. Earlier he was tentatively defending because he was worried about getting a fourth foul, but under the eight minute mark his defense really picked up. E.J. is very consistent. His effort, fight and competitiveness, he brings it. I am never worried whether he is ready to play or not. He is a hard nose. I like those kind of guys and every team needs one of those."
On summary of weekend play...
"Thursday's game was as energetic as this buildings been since we opened up; we sparked it early. The students stayed with us tonight."
On Carlos Emory...
"His athleticism has been tremendous for us. He is cutting down on his mistakes and he is really helping us. There is not one phase of his game that isn't getting better."
On next week's road game vs. Cal...
"Here (last match-up) we gave up easy baskets in the second half. We need to play with great determination down there. They are talented and well coached. We'll have to play really good. To be honest, at times we've played better on the road."
On this weekend's sweep at home...
"It's fun to have it be February 11th and still be in the hunt. We still have a long ways to go to be the team in March we want to be."
Oregon Guard Devoe Joseph
On the win...
"We are definitely becoming a better team. We are playing as a team and are becoming more cohesive. This sweep was important to us to stay in the Pac-12 race. We played two different style games and are happy to come out with the W...that's what's important."
On upcoming Cal...
"Cal is a hard team. They have a good defense. We need to come out and play. We are going to be hungry for the win. They took it from us in our house and we want to take the win at theirs."
Oregon Forward E.J. Singler
On tonight's play...
"We just try to make plays for each other. Coach emphasizes on playing for each other. When we have a lot of assists and team work we play much better."
On his performance...
"I got open looks, the team gave me some good passes and I took the shots."
On playing against Brock Motum...
"He is a lot stronger than he looks. I took a chance on guarding such a good scorer, he is hard to guard."
