SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- The Utah Utes defeated the University of Oregon women's basketball team, 67-47, on Friday evening at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. The victory improved the Utes to 12-10 overall and 3-8 in Pac-12 Conference play. UO dropped to 3-20 overall and 1-10 in league action.

Liz Brenner produced a career night for the Ducks, registering her second double-double of the season with 11 points and a new career-best of 15 rebounds. Jillian Alleyne contributed seven points and nine rebounds, while Danielle Love added nine points.

The Ducks maintained a 45-38 advantage on the glass, but Utah had the edge for points off turnovers (18-7) and second-chance points (14-9).

Oregon made 20-of-64 on field goals (31.3 percent) and just 3-of-23 from behind the 3-point arc (13 percent). Utah made 45 percent from the field (27-of-60) and 35.3 percent on 3-pointers (6-of-17).

Utah was led offensively by Michelle Plouffe who scored a game-high 15 points. Iwalani Rodrigues tallied 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, while Taryn Wicijowski had 13 points and a team-best eight rebounds.

The Ducks got off to a great start with a 3-pointer by Delgado and a pair of inside baskets by Brenner. UO jumped out to an 8-2 lead with just over 16 minutes to play in the half.

Utah's Rodrigues scored seven points to spearhead a 12-3 run as the Utes battled back to take a 14-11 lead at the 12-minute mark.

Utah went on another surge producing a 6-0 run that gave the Utes a 20-11 advantage. Love kept UO within striking distance, first with a jump hook in the lane and then a baseline drive resulting in a 10-footer to make the score 22-15.

A 3-pointer by Janitah Iamaleava, the first of her career, cut the lead to six points, 26-20, with a little over six minutes in the stanza.

The Utes took a 35-23 lead into the halftime locker room. Despite UO only committing seven first-half turnovers, the Utes were able to take advantage with a 10-0 edge for points off those UO turnovers.

Oregon was led over the first 20 minutes by Brenner, who tallied seven points and established a new career-best with 13 rebounds. In fact, Brenner had 10 rebounds – five on the offensive variety -- with 11:16 on the first-half clock.

The Ducks scored their first points of the second half on a 3-pointer by Love at the 16:06 mark. Utah out-scored UO, 16-7, over the first eight minutes of the second half to take a 51-30 advantage.

Oregon put together a 6-0 run over a 90 second span to cut the lead to 17 points, 53-36, with 10 minutes remaining in the game.

The Utes largest lead was 27 points, a 65-38 advantage at the 4:05 mark in the second.

Oregon (3-20, 1-10 Pac-12) will return to the hardwood on Sunday afternoon with a road game against No. 21 Colorado. That game is slated to tip-off at 12:30 p.m. (PT) at CU's Coors Events Center in Boulder.
