
Ducks Drop Series Finale To Oregon State

EUGENE, Ore. – No. 4 Oregon State jumped on No. 6 Oregon early with seven runs in the first three innings and then cruised to a 12-2 Pac-12 Conference win on Sunday at PK Park.
Michael Conforto went 3-for-5 with six RBI, including a two-out grand slam in the second inning off Oregon starter Jake Reed, to lead Oregon State (43-19, 22-5 Pac-12). Reed (6-4) took the loss for the Ducks allowing seven runs, two earned, in 2.2 innings. Ben Wetzler (7-1) got the win for OSU allowing two runs, one earned, in 6.1 innings.
Scott Heineman led Oregon going 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Tyler Baumgartner was 1-for-4 and drove in a run.
Oregon (43-13, 20-7 Pac-12) visits Oregon State Tuesday and can clinch the season series with a win over the Beavers. The Ducks won the first two meetings before OSU bounced back winning the second two between the teams.
