Ducks Finish Fifth, Clark Second at Nike Invite

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Oregon men's golf team finished fifth at the Nike Collegiate Invitational at the Colonial Country Club (285-280-294—859, +19) and redshirt senior Wyndham Clark finished second overall (68-66-70—204, -6).
How It Happened: The Ducks had rocky day three of the tournament after scoring their best round of the tournament the day before, carding a 294. Oregon finished fifth in the field of 15, four shots off of fourth place Oklahoma (273-291-291—855, +15) and eight shots away from the University of Georgia in third place (285-278-288—851, +11).
Vanderbilt claimed the top spot after firing a 1-under 839 (275-276-288). The Gators of the University of Florida finished in second with an even par (277-275-288—840).
In his Oregon golf debut, Clark, who also came off a personal best round on day two, fired a 2-over 70 to solidify second overall. Maverick McNealy of Stanford claimed the top spot (68-66-68—202, -8). McNealy is the world's top-ranked amateur.
Clark, a transfer from Oklahoma State, had the best card of the invitational on par 4 holes at 5-under. He collected 13 birdies, the third best of the field.
Sophomore Edwin Yi (72-67-72—211, +1) held onto his eighth-place position from round two, to tie with Blaine Hale (Oklahoma), Jorge Garcia (Florida) and Matthias Schwab (Vanderbilt). The Beaumont, Calif. native finished within the top-10 on par 4's at 1-over.
In his first collegiate golf appearance, freshman Roberto Lebrija finished tied for 42nd with five others at 11-over (70-73-78—221).
Redshirt senior Sulman Raza matched his 75 from the first round, to finish tied for 52nd (75-74-75—224, +14). Sophomore Sam Foust rounded out the Oregon lineup with a 68th place finish (78-75-77—230, +20).
On par 3 holes, the Ducks went +18 and -1 on par 5's. On par 4 holes, the Ducks had the third best showing of the invitational just behind Florida and Vanderbilt at +23.
Oregon had 41 birdies throughout the invitational, the third best of the 15-team field.
