EUGENE, Ore. - Senior Jillian Alleyne has been named the Pac-12 co-player of the year by the league's media, the conference announced on Wednesday.
In a vote of 23 media members who cover the conference, Alleyne earned co-player of the year honors along with Oregon State's Jame Weisner. Weisner was also named player of the year by the league' coaches on Tuesday.
Alleyne is the third in Oregon history to earn Pac-12 player of the year honors. Shaquala Williams took home the award in 2000 while Lauri Landerholm won in 1987.
Alleyne's name litters both the UO and the Pac-12 record books.
Alleyne ranks second in NCAA history with 92 career double-doubles and third with 1,712 rebounds. Alleyne owns both the Oregon and the Pac-12 single-game, single-season and career rebounding records plus both the program's and the league's single-season and career double-double marks.
In 120 career games, Alleyne scored 2,151 points, second on the all-time UO list and 10th in Pac-12 history.
This season, as a senior, Alleyne became just the 10th player in NCAA women's basketball history to tally 2,000+ points and 1,500+ rebounds, joining Chiney Ogwumike and Cheryl Miller from the Pac-12 on the exclusive list.
In addition to player of the year honors, Alleyne was named all-Pac-12 and all-defense by the league's media. She was named to both teams by the coaches as well.
Maite Cazorla is now a consensus all-freshman choice, as she picked up accolades from the media as well as the coaches.
The Pac-12 Tournament begins tomorrow in Seattle, with the Ducks taking on Arizona in the first round at 2 PM on Pac-12 Networks.
