
Ducks Look For Strong Finish in Round Three

The Oregon women’s golf team regained its footing on Tuesday during round two of the Stanford Intercollegiate after a rocky first round of stroke play.
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The Oregon women's golf team regained its footing on Tuesday during round two of the Stanford Intercollegiate at Poppy Hills Golf Course after a rocky first round of stroke play.
How It Happened: After shooting a 15-over 299 in the first round of stroke play on Monday, the Ducks jumped six strokes to finish round two with a 9-over 293. Oregon is 24 over (592) and in 11th overall through two rounds of stroke play, while host Stanford leads the 15-team field at 1-under par overall.
Junior Kathleen Scavo leads the Ducks after round two, shooting a 2-under 69 on Tuesday with four birdies. Scavo jumped 24 spots on the leaderboard on Tuesday to finish the day tied for 10th overall at 2-over par. Northwestern's Hannah Kim leads the field at 6-under par.
Junior Petra Salko also gave a solid performance, finishing round two at 3-over par to pull into a tie for 32nd on the leaderboard. Salko has carded a pair of 3-over 74s in each of the first two rounds to sit at 6 over.
Sophomore Amy Matsuoka and freshman Alexis Phadungmartvorakul are both at 8 over after two rounds and tied for 44th. Matsuoka finished round two with a 3-over 74 with a pair of birdies, while Phadungmartvorakul sunk four birdies to card a 5-over 76.
