Ducks Aim To Defend Big Ten Title
04/23/26 | Women's Golf
GLENDALE, Calif. -Â The No. 6 ranked Oregon women's golf team will aim to repeat as conference champions this weekend as the Ducks open postseason play at the 2026 Big Ten Championships on Friday at Oakmont Country Club.Â
After winning the Big Ten Championship in their first year in the league last season, the Ducks appear poised to once again take a run at the conference title. Oregon has placed in the top five in all nine of its tournaments this season, picking up one win and four runner-up finishes, while compiling a terrific 93-15-0 competitive record.
The Ducks will have to try and defend their title without junior Kiara Romero, the No. 1 ranked amateur in the world and the reigning individual Big Ten champion. Romero is foregoing the Big Ten Championships after receiving an invite to play this weekend in the Chevron Championship, the first major LPGA Tour event of the 2026 season.Â

2025 Big Ten Champions
Oregon used a dominant final round at last year's Big Ten Championships to come roaring back and win the conference title in its first year in the league. Trailing by three strokes going into Sunday, the Ducks fired a stellar 12-under 276 to win the team title by a whopping 14 strokes, matching the tournament's 54-hole scoring record in the process with a 12-under 852. Kiara Romero gave Oregon a championship sweep by claiming the individual conference title at 7-under par, winning by three strokes after a 4-under 68 in the final round. Oregon won the Big Ten title in its first year in the league while claiming the second conference championship in program history, joining the 2021-22 team that won the Pac-12 Championship. Romero joined Caroline Inglis (2015) and Hsin-Yu Lu (2022) as Ducks to win individual conference championships. While the majority of the attention went to Romero, it was Tong An who provided the low score of the final round for the Ducks, making six birdies en route to a birdie-free 6-under 66.Â
Ducks Place Third in Regular-Season Finale
Oregon extended its streak of top-five finishes to 21 tournaments in a row with a third-place finish at the Silverado Showdown to close out the 2025-26 regular season. All five players in the Ducks' lineup shot under par in the final round for a terrific 9-under 279, led by 3-under 69s from sophomores Tong An and Annika Ishiyama.Â
