Sooners Surge Past Ducks at PK80

PORTLAND — Trae Young scored 30 of his 43 points in the second half to lead Oklahoma to a 90-80 win over Oregon Sunday in the PK80 Motion Bracket consolation final at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
How It Happened: Trailing 58-49 with 15:04 to play, the Ducks (5-2) got back in the game with a 13-3 run, capped by a MiKyle McIntosh three, to take a 62-61 lead with 10:21 left.
But Young answered by scoring 21 of Oklahoma's last 26 points, including 13 in a row at one point, as the Sooners (4-1) pulled away.
Oklahoma made 34-of-44 free-throw attempts compared to 10-of-14 for Oregon.
The Ducks opened the game by forcing four early Oklahoma turnovers to jump out to a 14-6 lead four minutes into the game, but the Sooners responded with a 23-7 run over the next six minutes to take a 29-21 lead with 10:50 left in the first half.
Paced by 13 points from Young, the Sooners led 48-40 at halftime.
Who Stood Out: Paul White scored a career-high 17 points for Oregon, while Elijah Brown added 14 and Troy Brown Jr. had 13.
What It Means: Oregon finished 1-2 in the PK80 Invitational.
