Nasser, Eshet Head To Quarterfinals at Jack Kramer Invite

Junior Daniela Nasser and sophomore Julia Eshet picked up back-to-back wins to advance to the Quarterfinals Friday at the Jack Kramer Invitational.
ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – Junior Daniela Nasser and sophomore Julia Eshet advanced to the Quarterfinals Friday at the Jack Kramer Invitational.
How It Happened: Nasser secured back-to-back victories in the second day of tournament play opening the day with a win over Fresno State's Emma Wilson, 6-1, 6-4. The Tampa, Fla., native earned a berth in the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-1 win over fifth-seeded Alaina Miller.
Eshet powered her way to a three-set win in the round of 32 against Pac-12 foe Miki Kobayashi of Washington. After dropping a close first set 7-5, Eshet rallied back to force a third set ultimately winning the tiebreaker and the match by a score of 5-7, 7-5, 6-3.
In the round of 16, Eshet pulled out a 7-6, 6-3 win over Amit Lev-Ari of UC Santa Barbara.
Senior Nia Rose won the opening set against top-seeded Laura Gulbe of Pepperdine in her round of 32 match, but could not finish her off falling in three sets, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Freshman Paiton Wagner's bid for the round of 16 fell short against No. 4 seed Elizaveta Volodka of UC Santa Barbara, 6-3, 6-1.
Up Next: Nasser will square off against No. 1 seed Gulbe while Eshet will play Washington's Vanessa Wong in the quarterfinals Saturday at 9 a.m. PT.
