Ducks Finish Homestand vs. Washington Schools

UO hosts WSU Friday (11 a.m.) and UW Saturday (12 p.m.) at STC.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team concludes a four-match homestand this weekend at the UO Student Tennis Center by hosting the two Washington schools, first with a nonconference tilt with Washington State on Friday (11 a.m.) before a Big Ten battle with rival Washington on Saturday (12 p.m.).
Oregon (9-4, 1-1) entered the ITA rankings this week, checking in at No. 67. WSU comes into the weekend ranked No. 61 while the Huskies are 17th in the nation, marking the sixth and seventh straight matches against ranked opponents for the Ducks. UO has collected two ranked wins in that stretch, including a 4-0 sweep of No. 64 Rutgers in its last outing on Sunday – the first Big Ten sweep since joining the league a year ago.

Through 13 dual matches, UO has compiled a 40-16 overall singles record while its doubles teams are a combined 23-7. Seven players in the Ducks' singles lineup boast winning records, including a 10-2 mark from sophomore Bridget Mihulka, a 6-2 record from redshirt senior Olivia Symons and 7-3 record from junior Tilde Jagare.
Jagare has played every match at the top spot in the lineup and picked up her first career ranked win against Maryland last Friday, while she and Symons defeated the Terrapins' 23rd-ranked duo in the match.
Oregon's freshman doubles duo of Hadley Appling and Virginia Crocker are a team-best 6-1 so far this spring, playing at the third position. Hinata Furutani and Juliet Santitto are 7-1 and the top tandem of Jagare and Symons are 8-4. The Ducks have picked up the doubles point in 11 of 13 dual matches.
The Cougars (7-5) are coming off three consecutive matches against top-40 opponents, picking up a 4-3 win over 36th-ranked UC Santa Barbara before a tough 4-3 loss to No. 16 Pepperdine in their last outing. Eva Alvarez Sande is 11-1 this spring while going 8-1 at the top spot in WSU's singles lineup, while Maxine Murphy is 8-3 in dual matches, primarily playing at No. 2 in the order.
The Ducks are 29-24 all-time against Washington State while winning the last three matchups. Friday's match will mark the first between the teams since 2024.
The Huskies (11-0, 2-0) are off to their best start in program history and boast three ranked singles players in No. 64 Reece Carter, No. 79 Erika Matsuda and No. 113 Anna-Marie Weissheim. Oregon is 13-43 against UW all time, last winning in 2022.
