
Ducks Complete Sweep with Shutout Win

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon shut out Santa Clara for the second consecutive game in a 3-0 win to finish off the four game non-conference series sweep on Sunday at PK Park.
How it Happened: Four pitchers combined to keep the Broncos (3-12) off the board and strike out four batters and walk just one while scattering five hits. Cole Stringer (2-0) picked up the win, pitching 5.2 innings with three strikeouts and one walk while giving up four hits. Connor Zwetsch threw 1.1 perfect innings of relief with one strikeout and Brac Warren pitched a scoreless eighth inning. Kenyon Yovan shut the door in the ninth to secure the win and record his fifth save.
Spencer Steer gave the Ducks all the offense they would need in the fifth inning, delivering a two-run double with two outs to make it 2-0. Daniel Patzlaff followed one batter later with an RBI single that scored Steer.
