Ducks Sweep Utes in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The No. 42 University of Oregon women's tennis team swept the Utah Utes Friday afternoon at the Eccles Tennis Center 4-0.
The Ducks moves to 12-9 overall, 5-4 in Pac-12 play and 6-4 on the road. The Utes are now 8-9 overall, 2-7 in the conference , and 5-5 at home.
How it Happened: In doubles, Utah got their lone match victory of thr day with a 6-4 win by Luisa Gerstner Da Ro and Whitney Turley over junior Nia Rose and senior Marlou Kluiving. Junior Alyssa Tobita and freshman Rifanty Kahfiani took down Taylor Calton and Jena Cheng in the second position with a 6-4 result. Sophomore Shweta Sangwan and freshman Julia Eshet solidified the doubles win with a 9-7 tie break win over Margo Pletcher and Brianna Turley, 9-7.
In singles, sophomore Daniela Nasser continued Oregon's momentum with a straight set win over Gerstner Da Ro, 6-2, 6-3. No. 115 Tobita then took down B. Turley 6-2, 6-3. To clinch the match, Kluiving defeated W. Turley, 6-3, 7-5. Sangwan, Rose, and Eshet's matches went unfinished.
