TUCSON, Ariz. - The Oregon beach volleyball team's 2017 season came to end on Friday with two losses in the Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Pairs Championships at the Arizona Beach Volleyball Courts.
How it Happened: Two Duck duos were in action for Oregon in the pairs tournament, which began immediately after USC claimed the team championship for the second straight year.
Taylor Agost and August Raskie were the first pair to compete for Oregon, taking on Bryce Bark and Olivia Rodberg of California in the second match of the bracket. Bark and Rodberg took control early and won in straight sets, 21-14, 21-15.
A couple hours later, the Ducks' No. 1 duo of Lindsey Vander Weide and Brooke Van Sickle faced off with the No. 3-seeded pair of Bianca Arellano and Whitney Follette (Arizona State). The Sun Devil team pulled out the match to advance in the bracket, 21-13, 21-19.
What it Means: With the beach season in the books, the Ducks will turn their attention back to the indoor courts. Oregon will play a handful of indoor exhibition matches this spring, including a pair on May 7 in Matthew Knight Arena against Washington and Oregon State.
Up Next: Oregon's next spring indoor exhibition action will be on May 6 against Seattle and Western Washington at the Nike Campus.
