The Oregon women’s tennis team won an impressive four matches on Sunday to close out the Women of Troy Fall Invitational
LOS ANGELES - The Oregon women's tennis team won an impressive four matches on Sunday to close out the Women of Troy Fall Invitational.Â
How It Happened: The Ducks continued to dominate at the tournament, setting the tone for the final day early on in doubles play against LMU.
Shweta Sangwan and Daniela Nasser took the court together for the second day in a row. The duo pulled out a close one against Eva Marie Voracek and Siobhan Anderson of LMU, winning 7-6 (4).Â
Julia Eshet also kept her second day doubles partner, LMU's Sofiya Gaisina. Eshet and Gaisina downed the Lions' Yesica De Lucas and Camila Tumosa, 6-2.Â
After a short break, the Ducks were back on the court for some singles action.
Nasser competed in yet another three-set thriller in which she defeated Arizona's Camila Wesbrooks, 6-2, 6-7(5), 11-9.Â
Eshet faced Marie Van Aelst for her singles match, in which she won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Nasser and Eshet then played one final doubles match to close out the invitational in which they were unable to hold on against Sarah Nuno and Karla Portalatin of CSUF, 6-3.
Up Next: The Ducks will travel to Stanford, Calif, for the ITA Northwest Regional Championships. Hosted by Stanford, the four-day tournament will run from Thursday, Oct. 18 to Sunday, Oct. 21.Â
