Ionescu Named Preseason All-America

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon guard Sabrina Ionescu has been named preseason All-America, the Associated Press announced on Thursday.
Ionescu was a unanimous All-America pick last season, earning honors from the WBCA, AP, Wooden Award, USBWA, USA Today and ESPNW. The Walnut Creek, Calif., native was also the Pac-12 player of the year a season ago and the Pac-12 Tournament MVP in addition to the Nancy Lieberman national point guard of the year.
Ionescu averaged 19.7 points, 7.8 assists and 6.7 rebounds last season and is joined on the team by Louisville's Asia Durr, UConn's Katie Lou Samuelson, Notre Dame's Arike Ogunbowale and Baylor's Kalani Brown.
Ionescu and Durr each received 29 votes from the 31-member national media panel, tied for the most votes on the squad.
