
Schyllander Welcome Utah Standout to Program

EUGENE, Ore. – Head coach Nils Schyllander has announced the addition of Luke Vandecasteele to the Oregon men's tennis team. With the signing of his NLI, Vandecasteele will join the Ducks ahead of the 2019-20 season.
"Luke is a tremendous athlete," Schyllander said of the latest Duck. "He has already accomplished so much on the court but what we are truly excited about is the fact there is still so much room to grow. Luke is just the guy to go after it and get it done. That's just his personality.
"On top of being an outstanding athlete, Luke is a phenomenal student and really embodies the meaning of student-athlete. Welcome to the Duck family, Luke."
Vandecasteele is the No. 34 national signee in the most recent Head recruiting list, in addition to being the top-ranked prep player in the state of Utah and Mountain region. He has been ranked among in the top 40 throughout the past four years.
Over the past 15 months, the Midvale, Utah, native has won three regional tournaments, most recently capturing the singles title at the USTA Intermountain Level 3 Summer Championships in June. On the national level, Vandecasteele advanced to the semifinals of the USTA National Level 2 tournaments in May and October.
Vandecasteele was a quarterfinalist at the 2018 USTA Boys' 18 National Clay Court Championships in Delray Beach, Fla. Playing among the country's best, he had three wins at the 2018 USTA Boys' 18 National Championships in August.
