Ducks Take Seventh at Schooner Classic

NORMAN, Okla. - In its second fall tournament, head coach Derek Radley and the Oregon women's golf team tied for seventh at Oklahoma's Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club.
"Monica (Vaughn) and I are proud of the team and their ability to finish strong," Radley said. "Each day we improved over the previous round and that is a big focus of ours going forward."
The Ducks shot 3-over as a team in their first round, 3-under in their second round and 6-under in their third and final round.
Petra Salko (4-under, T-14th) and Tze-Han Lin (3-under, T-19th) both finished in the top-20 individually.
ROUND ONE
The Ducks shot a 3-over 287 on Friday to open the Schooner Classic.
Sophomore Alexis Phadungmartvorakul charged out of the gates to finish a team-best 1-under 70 on Friday. The Ducks started their round on the 10th hole and Phadungmartvorakul birdied 11 and 12. She then shot an eagle on the par-4 16th hole to wrap up the back nine with a 4-under 31. The sophomore was at 5-under after the third hole but bogyed No. 4, 6, 8 and 9 to finish at 1-under on the day.
Petra Salko shot even par in her opening round, with one birdie and one bogey. Fellow senior, Kathleen Scavo, was 1-over with a birdie on No. 3 and bogeys on No. 6 and No. 8.
Freshman Tze-Han Lin and Amy Matsuoka both shot 3-over 74 on Friday, with one round counting and one being dropped for the Ducks' four-round total of 287.

ROUND TWO
The Ducks shot 3-under 281 as a team in Saturday's second round but dropped from seventh to eighth place after host Oklahoma charged up the board.
Senior Petra Salko was 3-under on the day after tallying six birdies, a bogey and a double bogey. She was even after the front nine but shot a 32 on the back nine.
Freshman Tze-Han Lin was also under par in her second round of the tournament. Lin was 4-under after 15 holes but carded a bogey on No. 16 and No. 17 to finish at 2-under 69. She was 3-over after round one.
Amy Matsuoka was the third Duck under par on Saturday. She recorded a 1-under 70, using three birdies on the back nine to get under par.
Kathleen Scavo and Alexis Phadungmartvorakul each were 3-over on Saturday, with one score counting and the other getting dropped.
Freshman Simar Singh, playing as an individual, was 2-under after tallying an eagle on the 18th hole.

ROUND THREE
The Ducks closed strong with a 6-under 278 to finish tied for seventh with Clemson. Alabama won the event, shooting an NCAA record 45-under par, ahead of Texas in second at 28-under.
Oregon had the fifth best score of the third round, led by three players under par.
Tze-Han Lin capped her round with an eagle on the par-5 18th hole to finish at 4-under 67, her best round of the tournament. Lin finished at 3-under for the tournament, good for 19th. Only Petra Salko finished higher after the three-day event. The senior tied for 14th at 4-under for the tournament after carding a 1-under 70 in Sunday's third round.
Fellow senior Kathleen Scavo was also under par on Sunday. Scavo shot a 2-under 69 in her final round with five birdies. She finished in 38th at 2-over for the tournament.
Amy Matsuoka was 1-over on Sunday and finished in 43rd at 3-over for the tournament while Alexis Phadungmartvorakul was 10-over on Sunday and finished in 68th at 12-over for the tournament.
Freshman Simar Singh, playing individually, had her second straight round under par on Sunday. Singh shot a 3-under 68 in her final round with six birdies.
