Freshmen Highlight Strong Day One at Husky Invite

SEATTLE, Wash. – Oregon topped Idaho in singles play, 5-3, while winning three of four doubles matches earlier in the day against Colorado and Portland State on a solid first day of the Husky Invitational Friday.
How it Happened: The Ducks opened the day with two doubles matches each against Colorado and Portland State, winning both against Colorado and splitting with Portland State. Rifanty Kahfiani and Allison Mulville took their match, 6-3, while Julia Eshet and Lillian Mould won, 6-1. The freshman tandem of Myah Petchey and Uxia Martinez Moral won their match against Portland State, 6-3.
Eshet and Mould both rolled to victories in singles play, winning 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 respectively, while Martinez Moral won her match 6-0, 6-4. Kahfiani and Petchey both won their matches 6-4, 6-4 to round out singles play.
The freshman trio of Martinez Moral, Mould and Petchey went unbeaten in Friday's matches, sweeping through both singles and doubles play.
