Geniza, Ronne Highlight Final Day at OSU Invite

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Playing in a collegiate tournament in his hometown for the first time in his career, senior Kevin Geniza led the way for Oregon by finishing tied for 16th at the Oregon State Invitational at Trysting Tree Golf Club Tuesday.
The Ducks came in tied for ninth as a team, completing Monday's suspended second round at 15 over before shooting 4 over in the final round.
How it Happened – Round 2: Nate Stember, Yin Ho Yue and Kymer Li each turned in the best efforts of the second round for the Ducks. Stember made three birdies but six bogeys while Yue's round was highlighted by birdies at the par-4 third and the par-5 14th. Li made back-to-back birdies twice in his round, once at eight and nine, and again at 15 and 16 playing as an individual.
Round 3: Craig Ronne turned in the best round of the tournament for the Ducks, shooting a 2-under 69 to finish tied for 40th. The sophomore finished the day with six birdies and four bogeys, highlighted by a 3-under 33 on the back nine.
Geniza closed with an even-par 71 and finished tied for 16th. He began his day with two birdies and two bogeys in his first two holes before making a bogey at nine. The Corvallis native shot 1 under on the back nine before ending the day with two straight pars at holes one and two.
Yue shot a 1-over 72, highlighted by a 1-under 34 on the front nine, finishing tied for 59th while Tom Gueant shot a 5-over 76 to finish as the final counting score for Oregon.
