Oregon Holds At No. 6 CFP Rankings
11/19/19 | Football
EUGENE, Ore. – Coming off a 28-point win over Arizona that clinched the Pac-12 North Division crown, Oregon remained at No. 6 in the third College Football Playoff rankings of the season unveiled on Tuesday.
The Ducks' win streak now stands at nine games – good for fourth-longest in the nation – and they are one of three FBS teams (Clemson & Ohio State) to start 7-0 in conference play this season.
True to form this season, Oregon's defense and offense provided big moments in the 34-6 win over Arizona on Saturday night in Autzen Stadium. It marked the sixth time this season that the Ducks have held an opponent to less than 10 points and the fifth time an opponent hasn't scored a TD, both figures lead the nation. Offensively, Justin Herbert put together his fourth four passing-TD performance of the season en route to Oregon's fifth consecutive game with 30 points.
The strong night on both sides of the ball helped Oregon remain as one of just five FBS teams in the top 14 nationally in both scoring defense (14.8/10th) and scoring offense (37.9/14th), while the Ducks became the first Pac-12 team to start 7-0 since Stanford in 2015.
One of just 10 FBS teams undefeated on the road with at least three wins, Oregon is back in action on Saturday when it visits Arizona State at 4:30 p.m. on ABC.
