12/16/19 | Women's Basketball
EUGENE, Ore. – Sabrina Ionescu has been named the Pac-12 player of the week for her performance in Saturday's win at Long Beach State, the conference announced on Monday.
Ionescu scored a season-high 21 points and added 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals in an 81-45 victory over the Beach at the Walter Pyramid. The senior superstar notched her 42nd career double-double while going 9-of-14 from the floor and 3-of-6 from three-point range.
This is Ionescu's first Pac-12 weekly honor of the season and the ninth of her career, tying her for the second most of any player in league history. Chiney Oqwumike (Stanford, 2011-14) is the all-time leader with 18 weekly awards.
Oregon has now had a player honored by the conference each of the last two weeks, with Holly Winterburn earning Pac-12 freshman of the week following the Ducks' win over South Dakota State on Dec. 8.
