Oregon plays Wisconsin in Rose Bowl

EUGENE, Ore. – In a rematch of the 2012 Rose Bowl, No. 6 Oregon will meet No. 8 Wisconsin in the 106th Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 1, 2020 at 2 p.m. on ESPN.
Oregon, which claimed the Pac-12 Conference berth by beating No. 5 Utah 37-15 in the Pac-12 Championship Game, will be making its eighth appearance in the Rose Bowl. This year's Granddaddy of Them All will mark the fourth time since 2010 that Oregon has been the Pac-12's representative
The Ducks win their last two appearances in the Rose Bowl beating Florida State 59-20 in the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs on Jan. 1, 2015 and Wisconsin 45-38 on Jan. 2, 2012. Oregon is 3-4 all-time in the Rose Bowl including a win in its first appearance, a 14-0 win over Pennsylvania on Jan. 1, 1917.
In Oregon's win over Wisconsin in 2012, Darron Thomas passed for three touchdowns and De'Anthony Thomas scored on runs of 91 and 64 yards to lead the No. 6 Ducks past the No. 9 Badgers. LaMichael James and Thomas combined 314 of Oregon's 345 rushing yards in the win. James led the Ducks with 159 yards and a TD while Thomas added 155 yards.
Overall, Wisconsin holds a 3-2 edge in the all-time series against Oregon with the Ducks winning the last two. No. 7 Oregon handed the No. 22 Badgers a 31-28 loss in Autzen Stadium on Sept. 1, 2001 when Joey Harrington tossed three touchdown passes and scored on a game-winning 1-yard fourth-down leap with 4:03 to play. Wisconsin picked up wins over Oregon in 1977, 1978 and 2000.
