Gronlund Leads Day Two at Bandon

BANDON, Ore. – Ryan Gronlund shot a 4-under 68 to move into the top 10 in a tie for seventh after round two of the Bandon Dunes Championship at the Bandon Dunes Course Monday. Oregon shot 2 over as a team and is tied for ninth at 15 over for the tournament.
How it Happened: Gronlund got off to roaring start, making three consecutive birdies at holes nine through 12 before making six pars in a row. He birdies the par-5 18th and the par-5 third to move to 5 under on the day through 13 holes. Gronlund dropped a couple of shots with bogeys at five and six, but got back to 4 under with a birdie at the par-4 seventh.
Kevin Geniza followed a steady opening round with an even-par 72. He made three birdies in his first seven holes to get to 3 under on the round, but went bogey, double bogey at holes 15 and 16 to move back to even par. Geniza made seven pars, a birdie and a bogey in his last nine holes to end his day.
Freshman Yin Hoe Yue turned in his best round to-par of his young collegiate career, shooting a 2-under 70 playing as an individual. He made par on his first two holes, but caught fire after that making three straight birdies at holes 16-18. Yue cooled off a bit after that, making two birdies and three bogeys in his last 13 holes to move into a tie for 19th at 2 over for the tournament.
Thomas Mulligan shot a 2-over 74 and is tied for 75th, while Donald Kay finished with a 1-over 73 and is tied for 48th overall, playing as an individual.
