Ducks Rack Up Awards at NCATA Individual Event Finals

The No. 2 Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team earned an extensive list of event titles and awards at the NCATA Individual Event Finals at the Ferrell Center on Saturday morning.
 WACO, Texas – The Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team began the final day of the NCATA National Championship in a spectacular fashion, earning four individual event titles, three All-American honors, and a list of academic awards on Saturday morning at the Ferrell Center.

Individual Event Finals: The team qualified in 13 of 15 heats for the individual event finals. Oregon took home its first title of the day in the synchronized pyramid after registering a score of 9.825.

The Ducks continued to find success in the pyramid event. Casi Jackson, Samantha Little, Caroline Matos, Calyx Hampton and Addie Lacewell recorded a near-perfect 9.925 in the open pyramid to earn Oregon's second title of the day.

Oregon continued its momentum from the pyramid event into the toss event. Lacewell, Payton Coon, Katie Bachman, Yeelena Faustino and Ashley Jamison found a third title for the Ducks in the open toss with a score of 9.875.

Jackson, Hannah Blair and Makenna Jarman rounded out the competition with a final title in the trio pass, after registering a score of 9.225.

Award Ceremony: Following the individual event finals, players were honored with season awards. Three Ducks – Jackson, Coon and Lacewell – received NCATA All-American honors for the first time since 2014. Jackson is a two-time All-American, as the senior was also named an NCATA All-American in 2018, while it is the first such honors of Coon and Lacewell's careers.

Junior Hannah Esterman was named the recipient of the 2019 Louise Goodrum Academic Achievement Award for maintaining a 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in human physiology. She is the first Duck in program history to receive the award.

To round out the awards ceremony, 18 of Oregon's athletes were also named to the 2019 Academic Honor Roll.

With today's performance, the Ducks extended their program history to a total of 22 NCATA All-Americans and 49 NCATA individual event titles since the organization's inception in 2011.
