Ejore, Harvey Lead Productive Day in Tempe

EUGENE, Ore. – Susan Ejore and Jonathan Harvey turned in NCAA season top-10 performances on the final day of competition at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz. Overall, the Ducks finished the day with seven wins, 16 personal best and three Oregon top-10 efforts.
Ejore dropped her personal best from 2:04.53 to 2:03.09 in a runner-up finish in the top section of the 800 meters. Based on times entering the weekend, that time is the No. 2 mark in the NCAA this year. Ejore opened her season last weekend with a 1,500-meter PR of 4:18.11 at the Stanford Invitational.
In the Ducks' final race of the afternoon session, Harvey leaned at the line for a new PR and the win in the 400-meter hurdles. Harvey stopped the clock in 51.03, replacing his previous best of 51.11 from last year's Desert Heat Classic. Based on times entering the weekend, Harvey's mark is the ninth fastest in the NCAA this season.
The Men of Oregon secured another victory with redshirt junior Jackson VanVuren leading a 1-2 finish in the javelin; teammate John Nizich was the event runner-up. VanVuren finished with a new personal best of 69.82m/229-1 which moved the Hillsboro, Ore., native to No. 10 in program history. Nizich turned in a season-best 66.38m/217-9 to finish second.
The Ducks added another pair of top-10 program marks with the efforts of Emily Sloan in the 100-meter hurdles and Kiana Phelps in the shot put. Sloan clocked in at 13.53 to become the No. 6 performer in UO history and finish third in the event; teammate Kaylah Robinson (13.48) was second. Phelps had a day's best of 15.78m/51-9.25 to move from 10th to fifth on the program's all-time list.
In the last individual win of the night, sophomore Cooper Teare went from eighth to first over the final 400 meters to out-lean Talen Franco of BYU at the finish line. He posted a time of 4:00.85 in the victory.
Oregon opened the premiere session by sweeping the women's and men's 4x100-meter relays. In the final event of the night, the Women of Oregon secured another win in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Hannah Waller, Khadejah Jackson, Briyahna DesRosiers and Iman Brown recorded a time of 3:34.74, good for a top-15 national performance.
In a similar tale from Friday's 200 meters, Makenzie Dunmore finished second overall at 100 meters and first among collegians. She crossed in 11.50 and was one of seven Oregon women inside the top 12. In the men's race, Oraine Palmer (10.42) led a trio of Ducks in the top eight.
