Women of Oregon Earn Program of the Year
06/12/19 | Track and Field
EUGENE, Ore. – For a 10th time in the award's 11-year existence, the Women of Oregon are the Terry Crawford Division I Women's Program of the Year. The honor is earned annually by the team with the highest combined national finish during the cross county, indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.
The Ducks were the only team in the country with top-five finishes at each of the NCAA Championships this past year including a pair of third-place team performances at the cross country and indoor meets. At the recently completed NCAA Outdoor Championships, Oregon tallied 34 points to finish fifth overall, the 16th top-five outdoor result in program history.
On the men's side, the Ducks finished fourth in the John McDonnell Program of the Year standing. It is the eighth top-four finish for the Men of Oregon since the inception of the award prior to the 2008-09 season.
Semifinalists for The Bowerman were also announced Wednesday afternoon, a list that features Jessica Hull. During her 2019 campaign, Hull was a two-time NCAA indoor champion at 3,000 meters and in the distance-medley relay. She successfully defended her Pac-12 title at 1,500 meters and then ran the No. 3 time in collegiate history (4:06.27) as the NCAA runner-up.
