Lin Leads Ducks at Cougar Cup

PULLMAN, Wash. - Tze-Han Lin posted a top-5 finish as the Oregon women's golf team took second at the fall season opening WSU Cougar Cup at Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
Lin carded a 2-under 70 in the third and final round of the tournament to climb into a tie for fifth overall. Lin shot a 5-under 211 (70-71-70) over the three rounds of the Cougar Cup.
As a team, the Ducks recorded a 12-under 852 (285-279-288) to kick off their fall schedule.
Freshman Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen, making her collegiate debut for the Ducks, was Oregon's second-best finisher. Kibsgaard Nielsen tied for 13th overall with a 2-under 214 (71-71-72).
Senior Amy Matsuoka and freshman Ching-Tzu Chen also finished in the top-20, tying for 16th and 20th, respectively. Matsuoka carded a 1-under 215 (72-68-75) while Chen was even par at 216 (74-69-73). Freshman Briana Chacon tied for 27th at 2-over 218 (72-73-73).
Washington's Karen Miyamoto won the tournament with a 9-under 207, four shots better then Lin in fifth. Oregon State topped the team leaderboard with a tournament record 20-under 844.
