Ducks Look for Strong Finish at NCI

NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – Oregon shot 4 over for the second straight day and is in 14th place at 8 over following round two of the Nike Collegiate Invitational Monday at Witch Hollow at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. Freshman Nate Stember led the Ducks, shooting a 1-under 70 and is even par for the tournament in a tie for 30th.
How it Happened: Stember had a roller coaster of a back nine to start his day, making two birdies and four bogeys to make the turn at 2 over. He caught fire after the turn though with three straight birdies to start the front nine and cap off a stretch of three four birdies in five holes. The freshman closed his day with six straight pars to shoot 3 under on the front nine.
Kevin Geniza also had an up-and-down back nine, recording two birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to turn at 2 over. He shot a bogey-free 1-under 35 on the front though to shoot a 1-over 72 for the second day in a row to go to 2 over for the tournament.
Yin Ho Yue shot a 1-over 72 and is tied for 43rd at 3 over for the tournament. He made birdies at the par-4 17th and the par-5 fourth hole while making three bogeys, shooting 36 on both nines.
Oklahoma continues to hold the team lead while the Sooners' Logan McAllister leads the way individually at 10 under.
