Ducks Dominate Season Opener

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon dominated from start to finish on Friday, led by strong performances by a trio of freshman in a 6-1 win over UC Davis in the spring season opener at the Student Tennis Center.
How it Happened: The Ducks set the tone on in doubles as the duos of Julia Eshet and Lillian Mould and Uxia Martinez Moral and Myah Petchey each built big leads early. Eshet and Mould took their match. 6-4, before Martinez Moral and Petchey followed soon after with a 6-3 win to take the doubles point.
Martinez Moral kept it going with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win to put up the Ducks' second point of the match. After Rifanty Kahfiani too her match at the No. 1 spot when her opponent retired in the second set, Eshet secured the clincher with a 6-3, 6-0 win at the No. 4 spot. Petchey and Mould also secured wins for the Ducks to wrap up the season-opening victory.
