01/28/20 | Men's Basketball
No. 11 Oregon wraps up the first half of league play by visiting California Thursday at 6 p.m. (Pac-12 Network).
THE STARTING FIVE
• 1 – Payton Pritchard enters the week needing just six more assists to break the UO career record of 614, currently held by Kenya Wilkins (1993-97). Last week, Pritchard became the winningest player in program history with his 98th victory as a Duck.
• 2 – Last Thursday against USC, Chris Duarte became the first Division I player in 21 years to record 30 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals in a game. The eight steals was a Matthew Knight Arena record and one off the UO school record. He followed that with 24 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists Sunday versus UCLA ro earn Pac-12 player of the week honors and national player of the week laurels from the Naismith Award and the Oscar Robertson Trophy.
• 3 – The Ducks' last win gave Oregon its 10th straight winning season, tying an 88-year-old school record. It also gave Dana Altman his 23rd consecutive winning season as a head coach, matching five Hall of Famers - Mike Krzyzewski, Tom Izzo, Roy Williams, Bill Self and Jim Boeheim - with an active streak of 23 or more consecutive winning seasons.
• 4 – Last week, Payton Pritchard became the first player in Pac-12 history to reach 1,500 career points, 600 career assists and 500 career rebounds. He is the sixth player in Pac-12 history with 1,500 career points and 600 career assists joining Gary Payton (Oregon State), Damon Stoudamire and Jason Gardner (Arizona), Tyus Edney (UCLA) and Jordan McLaughlin (USC). He also garnered national player of the week laurels from the Naismith Award and the Oscar Robertson Trophy. The Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, native posted a stat line Jan. 23 against USC not seen at the Division I level in nearly 21 years. The last player to do that was Niagara's Alvin Young, who had 34 points, 11 rebounds and nine steals against Saint Peter's on Jan. 30, 1999. The eight steals was the most by a Duck since Kenya Wilkins set the school record with nine against Boise State on Dec. 20, 1996. It was also the most steals by a Pac-12 player since 2015 (T.J.
