Happle wins Pac-12 defensive honor

Eugene, Ore. – After making just his second start at Oregon, Jordan Happle has been named the Pac-12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week following Oregon's win conference win over UCLA on Saturday.

Happle, a graduate transfer, sparked Oregon to a victory returning an interception 58 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the first half putting the Ducks in front 24-21, a lead they would never relinquish. In addition to the pick-6, Happle made a career-high 11 tackles, including six solo stops.

» Is the fourth Oregon safety to win the award in the Mario Cristobal era joining Ugochukwu Amadi (2018), Verone McKinley (2019) and Brady Breeze (2019).
» Is the third Duck to win a Pac-12 weekly award this season joining Ryan Walk and T.J. Bass, who won offensive lineman of the week honors following Oregon first two games.
» The 58-yard interception return was Oregon's longest pick-6 for a touchdown since 2017 and the longest by a Duck in Autzen Stadium since 2011.
» Is one of six FBS players with double-digit tackles and a pick-6 in the same game this season.
