Win over Utah Highlights Saturday Split

LOS ANGELES – Oregon picked up its third win of the early season in its first of two matches Saturday, topping Utah, 4-1, before falling to No. 11 California, 5-0, in its second match. The Ducks have won three matches in a season for just the third time in the program's seven-year history and have won three matches through its first six in a season for the first time ever.

How it Happened: Carly Wallace and Madelyn LaFollette picked up the first win of the day with a three-set win on court No. 2, 21-14, 17-21, 15-10 over Lauren Sproule and Jessica Villela. Jade Sadeiko and Bea Wetton gave Oregon its first win of the season on the No. 1 court to put up the second point of the day topping Madelyn Robinson and Kenzie Koerber, 21-14, 21-18.

Elise Ferreira and Abby Hansen clinched the win for the Ducks with a 22-20, 21-18 win at the No. 5 spot before Ally Haden and Savannah Siegrist improved to 5-0 on the season with a win on court No. 3.

Oregon dropped each of its five matches against No. 11 California in the second match of the day, with Anastasia Lima and Zoe Almanza putting up the biggest fight in a 21-18, 21-19 loss.
