Sewell, Scott Headline Outland Trophy List

DALLAS – Reigning Outland Trophy winner Penei Sewell and senior defensive tackle Jordon Scott were both named to the award's preseason watch list released on Tuesday by the Football Writer's Association (FWAA). The Outland Trophy recognized the nation's top interior lineman.
Sewell became the first player in program history and the first Polynesian to win the Outland Trophy in 2019, while Scott has been on the award's watch list each of the past three seasons. Oregon is one of six programs (Alabama, BYU, Clemson, Pitt, USC) with an offensive and defensive lineman on the watch list.
Sewell returns for his junior season after becoming just the third Duck to be named a unanimous first-team All-American in 2019 and he was the first sophomore offensive lineman to win the Outland. He finished his sophomore campaign as the highest-graded offensive lineman (95.5) in Pro Football Focus (PFF) history and won the Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week honor four times while no other team earned the award more than twice. Oregon is 17-3 over Sewell's 20 career starts at left tackle, while the Malaeimi, American Samoa native enters his junior season with 678 career pass-blocking snaps and just one sack allowed.
It was a busy morning for Scott, who also landed on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list for a third time in his career. The middle of the Oregon defensive line that helped the Ducks finish 13th nationally against the run (108.93) in 2019, Scott has started 37 of the last 38 games and played over 1,000 combined snaps the last two seasons. The Largo, Fla., product has 95 career tackles and has been a Pac-12 All-Conference selection each of the last two years.
