STANFORD, Calif. – Five Oregon players are on the round of 32 in singles play at the ITA Northwest Regional after a long day of action Friday that was delayed at the start due to weather. The opening round of doubles play was pushed back to Saturday.

How it Happened: The Ducks got off to a solid start in the opening round of singles, advancing six players through to round two. Each made quick work of their opponents with straight-set victories, starting with Lillian Mould's 6-4, 6-2 win and Sophie Luescher's 6-3, 6-4 victory. Uxia Martinez Moral followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win before Allison Mulville and Ares Teixido Garcia each won 6-3, 6-4. Myah Petchey moved on to the second round after her opponent withdrew from the event.

Mould and Luescher were the first two Ducks to advance to the round of 32, with Mould topping Stanford's Niluka Madurawe, 6-3, 6-4, and Luescher winning 6-1, 7-5 to improve to 5-0 in singles on the year. Petchey went to three sets to advance, winning a battle with Washington State's Fifa Kumhom, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 before Martinez Moral won her second round match, 6-4, 7-6(7). Teixido Garcia made quick work in her second round match, 6-1, 6-2, to remain perfect in singles play on the year.

One Oregon pair advanced in doubles play despite all of those matches getting delayed until Saturday. Martinez Moral and Petchey moved on the second round after the Seattle U pair they were set to faced withdrew.
