EUGENE, Ore. – After starting the season 2-1, including a win over then top-ranked Baylor, Oregon has moved into the No.1 spot in the NCATA poll released on Wednesday.
The Ducks opened the season with a 277.53-252.97 win over Arizona Christian before handing Baylor a 281.635-280.660 loss on March 6. The Ducks dropped their last meet at Azusa Pacific on March 25.
Oregon is average 278.715 points through its first three meets with a season-high score of 281.635 vs. Baylor. The Ducks have scored three perfect 10s so far, two in the Pyramid Event and one in the Acro Event.
Due to COVID-19, the 2021 NCATA championship field has been cut to four qualifying teams this spring. The semifinals will take place on April 22, with the National Championship Meet slated for April 23 in Waco, Texas.
This season, a team must compete in three meets to be eligible for NCATA National Championship qualification. Only teams with at least two meets competed are ranked this week by the committee. Two programs, Azusa Pacific and Concordia of Wisconsin were not eligible for this week's rankings. Both teams will be eligible in future rankings, once they compete in a second meet.
The next set of NCATA national rankings will be announced on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 1 p.m. No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Baylor are schedule to face off again on Saturday, April 10.
