Duarte Earns First All-American Award

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior guard Chris Duarte earned his first all-American award of the 2020-21 season Friday when he was named to the College Hoops Today third team by Jon Rothstein.
Singled out as the best player in the Pac-12 by Rothstein during his "Stuffed" program on Tuesday, Duarte is one of just three players nationally averaging 17.0 points and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. He is the only major conference player with those averages.
The Pac-12 Player of the Year candidate is also one of five finalists for the 2021 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award. He is the first finalist in program history.
Duarte has scored in double figures in 17 consecutive games and is third in the Pac-12 in scoring at 17.7 points per game. He leads the conference in three-point field goals per game (2.5) and is second in steals per game (1.9). Additionally he ranks 14th nationally in three-point field goal percentage at 43.4 percent.
Oregon closes out the regular season Sunday at Oregon State (5 p.m., FS1).
