Ducks Open At No. 8 In College Football Playoff Rankings

EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon football came in at No. 8 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season revealed Tuesday evening on ESPN.
 
The Ducks are the lone remaining unbeaten team in the Pac-12, sitting at 5-0 and 7-1 overall after winning their seventh straight game last week at California. Oregon is the highest ranked Pac-12 teams and one of five teams from the conference in the initial CFP rankings, along with No. 9 USC, No. 12 UCLA, No. 14 Utah and No. 23 Oregon State.
 
Oregon is the second-highest ranked one-loss team, behind only No. 6 Alabama.
 
One of four schools to play in the inaugural College Football Playoff in 2014, Oregon has now appeared in the CFP poll 27 times. This is the Ducks' 16th top-10 ranking
 
Oregon hits the road for the second week in a row this weekend, heading to Boulder to take on Colorado (1-7, 1-4 Pac-12) on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. PT (ESPN).
