
Ducks Struggle Against Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – Oregon men's tennis fell short with a 4-0 loss to Utah today. The Ducks return to the Student Tennis Center next weekend to begin the home conference schedule.

How it Happened: Utah came out hot and secured the doubles point after a 6-0 win on court two and a 6-4 win on court one. The Ducks pair of Luke Vandecasteele and Ryoma Matsushita were a competitive 4-4 draw when the point was secured for the Utes.

Singles proved to be more success for Utah, takings points two, three and four quickly to secure the sweep. Oregon's Avi Shugar dropped his match 6-3, 6-2, Quinn Vandecasteele fell 6-4, 6-1 and the deciding point came from a 6-1, 7-6 (3) loss from Ivailo Keremedchiev.

Joshua Charlton was at 4-6, 6-5 when the match was secured, while Luke was in a 6-7, 4-5 battle that went unfinished.
