EUGENE, Ore. — Junior Mase Funa has been named the Pac-12 defensive lineman of the week for his performance in Oregon's 44-41 comeback win at Washington State last Saturday.
Funa sealed the game for the Ducks in the final minute, jumping a screen pass and giving Oregon a 10-point lead with a 27-yard pick-six. It was his first career interception and first career touchdown, and he joined Casey Rogers as Oregon defenders to score touchdowns through the first four games of the season. Funa added four tackles and assisted on a tackle for loss against the Cougars.
Funa is the second honoree in as many weeks for the Ducks, with defensive end Brandon Dorlus being named the Pac-12 co-defensive lineman of the week following Oregon's win over BYU. This is Funa's first career Pac-12 weekly award.
