Football Practice Recap: Oct. 18
10/18/23 | Football, @GoDucksMoseley
The Ducks are preparing to host Washington State on Saturday (12:30 p.m., ABC).
The Oregon football team was in full pads on its outdoor practice fields for the second day in a row Wednesday, when preparations continued for Saturday's visit to Autzen Stadium by Washington State.
Following practice, head coach Dan Lanning met with local reporters, as did four players — offensive lineman Steven Jones, outside linebacker Mase Funa, defensive back Steve Stephens IV and defensive back Trikweze Bridges. Video of those interviews is embedded below.

Some highlights from coach Lanning …
On playing back at home this week: "There's nothing like playing in front of our crowd here in Autzen, and our fans are unbelievable. I know our players love playing in that stadium, so we embrace every single chance we get."
On the team's intensity coming back from a loss: "I'd say the passion and intensity was a little too much yesterday. And we've got to level that out because there's a rule of diminishing returns to where, when you have so much juice you can't focus on the job at hand. And today that was much better — now, there was definitely intensity out there on the field, but it's leveling that out."
On defending the offense of WSU coordinator Ben Arbuckle: "They create a lot of explosive plays. This really mirrors a lot of what Texas Tech has done in the past. He came from Western Kentucky. He keeps a lot of the things that they did really well last year, as far as system, and they've added some new wrinkles."
