EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon baseball team will play 53 regular-season games in 2023, highlighted by 28 home games at PK Park.
The Ducks open the season at the Shriners Children's College Showdown presented by Kubota in Arlington, Texas on Feb. 16-18 against three Big 12 Conference teams. The Ducks face Oklahoma in their tournament opener before playing Baylor and Texas Tech at Globe Life Field, the home of the world champion Texas Rangers.
Oregon returns to Eugene the following weekend to open the home portion of its season against Lafayette on Feb. 23-25 with a doubleheader on Saturday. The series is the first between the Ducks and the Leopards with Oregon only playing one game ever against a member of the Patriot League.
After facing Lafayette, the Ducks hit the road for eight-game in California and Arizona, the longest road trip of the season for Oregon. UO opens the trip with three games at UC Santa Barbara before playing a pair of midweek games against Grand Canyon in Phoenix. The Ducks wrap up the trip opening the final season of Pac-12 Conference action at Arizona State on March 8-10.
Oregon returns to PK Park to open an 11-game homestand that features a pair of Pac-12 Conference series against California (March 15-17) and Arizona (March 22-24). The Ducks open the stretch with a midweek matchup against Portland (March 12) before closing it with a four-game set against Seattle (March 27-30).
In all, Oregon will host seven weekend series with five featuring Pac-12 Conference opponents. In addition to California and Arizona, UO hosts USC (April 12-14), Utah (May 3-5) and Washington State (May 16-18) in conference play.
Oregon's home schedule also includes five midweek games, highlighted by a rivalry game against Oregon State (April 30) that will complete a streak of four consecutive games against the Beavers. The Ducks also host West Coast Conference opponents Portland (March 12) and Gonzaga (April 16) in single midweek games while facing Sacramento State, from the WAC, in a two-game series (April 9-10).
In addition to the Arizona State series, Oregon will play four more conference series on the road. The Ducks visit UCLA (April 5-7), Stanford (April 19-21), Oregon State (April 26-28) and Washington (May 10-12). UO also has single midweek road games at Portland (April 2) and at San Francisco (April 22).
Head Coach Mark Wasikowski Quote:
"We are excited about our 2024 schedule. Getting invited to start the season at the Shriners classic, college baseball's marque tournament at the home of the World Series champion Texas Rangers, then continuing our rivalry series on the road verses UC Santa Barbara will be a good test. The goal is to prepare ourselves for Pac-12 play with one of the most challenging nonconference schedules in the country. We are looking forward to building off our 2023 Pac-12 Tournament championship and Super Regional team. We are also looking forward to seeing our fans at PK Park."
