Ducks Secure Place in NCATA Final

WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. —Oregon acrobatics and tumbling secured a 268.705-262.625 win Friday afternoon to punch its ticket to the NCATA National Championship on Saturday.

The victory marks the 20th in postseason competition as the Ducks return to the championship meet for the 10th time overall.

How it Happened: Oregon gained early traction in the match after jumping to a 37.900-36.200 lead following the compulsory event. The Ducks earned a 9.825 in the heat to help with the quick start.

Oregon continued to increase its advantage against Limestone. The Ducks made it 66.450-62.350 after claiming two of the three heats.

After sharing an equal score in the last match during the pyramid event, Oregon got back to getting the better in the event. The Ducks outscored the Saints 29.000-28.650, highlighted by a 9.800 in the open pyramid. Oregon entered the halftime break with a 95.450-91.000 advantage.

The Ducks continued to find ways to increase the lead in the second half of the competition. Oregon claimed the toss event by a score of 28.075-27.500 after claiming two of three heats in the fourth event.

After some slips on the mat yesterday, Oregon corrected course in the tumbling heat. The Ducks saw improvement across the board, leading to the second-best score in the section of the season. Oregon posted the second-highest totals of the season in the duo, trio, and quad tumbling passes. Rickelle Henderson highlighted the section with a 9.850 in the six element tumbling pass and contributed with Karly Nowak to a 9.525 in the duo pass.

Oregon stayed calm and collected during the team event, leading to the team's sixth and most important victory of the season so far.
