Oregon Opens Pac-12 Tournament Against Colorado

EUGENE, Ore. - Postseason action begins on Wednesday for Oregon as the Ducks take on Colorado in the opening round of the Pac-12 Tournament.
Since the first tournament in 2018, Oregon possesses a 2-3 record and has reached the semifinals twice.

THE DUCKS vs. THE BUFFALOES
Oregon and Colorado meet for the third time overall and the second time within five days. The Ducks are 1-14 in program history against Colorado, with last year's win in the Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinals being the first. Oregon lost a 15-14 overtime heartbreaker in Eugene on April 1 and 15-5 most recently in Boulder on April 28.
DUCKS STOPPED IN PAC-12 FINALE
Oregon was swept in the season series against Colorado after a 15-5 defeat on Friday. The Buffaloes got an early 3-0 lead before the Ducks made it 3-2 early in the second. Colorado outscored Oregon 7-2 in the second period to pull away in the contest. Lauren Rismani led Oregon with two points (1 goal, 1 assist) for her sixth multi-point game in her last seven.
» Margot Hotham caused three-plus turnovers in a game for the third time this season.
» Oregon has won the draw control advantage in each of the last three games after only doing so twice prior during the season.
SENIOR SERVICE
A contingent of three graduate students and one senior have anchored the Oregon defense this season, combining for 53 starts throughout the 2023 season.
» Hotham has started every game for the Ducks after spending her first four seasons at Temple. The Pennsylvania native leads the team in caused turnovers (22) and ground balls (27). The defender has forced 16 turnovers over the last six games, including a career-best four in back-to-back games against Arizona State and No. 20 USC. The Wallingford, Pa. native is the first Oregon player with 20 caused turnovers in a season since 2017.
» Senior Lexie Likins has started every game and has the third most starts among active Ducks with 36. The captain scooped up a career-best five ground balls on Feb. 26, against Kennesaw State and is third on the team in the category with 22. The California native has a caused turnover in eight games this season.
» Graduate transfer Maggie Flynn has gotten the starting nod in nine of the last 10 games for the Ducks. Flynn was a second-team All-Atlantic 10 selection and team captain after starting 32 games at Duquesne. The Pennsylvania native is second on the team with 11 caused turnovers and forced three in consecutive wins against UC Davis and Arizona State.
QUACK ATTACK
The Oregon offense has emphasized versatility throughout the 2023 season. The Ducks have received production from all across the roster, with 14 players scoring a goal and 13 recording an assist.
» Seven Oregon players have scored a hat trick this season, while 12 Ducks have netted multiple goals in a game. Ten have totaled three-or-more points in a game throughout the season, including four players with five-plus point outings.
» UO has had six games this season having at least eight players scoring a goal, with 10 finding the back of the net in the win over George Mason. Among those games, five players have scored multiple goals on three separate occasions.
» The Ducks have had two games with 40 shots, against Xavier and Cal, the second and third time with 40-plus shots under head coach Chelsea Hoffmann and the most since April 17, 2021, against UC Davis (41). Oregon has six games with 30 or more shots this season.
