Abby Plevin, student-athlete on Oregon's beach volleyball team, opens up about an injury that nearly cost her her leg.
In fall of 2022, Abby Plevin, a current student-athlete on Oregon's beach volleyball team, attended a Women In Flight donor community event commemorating our Go Do Anything Title IX campaign. Inspired by the night's events, Abby then contacted us with an ask: to share her story using the Women In Flight platform.
As a young girl, Abby sustained what seemed a normal injury playing basketball. The injury later developed into further complications, the eventual diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CSRP), and the possibility of Abby losing her leg.
