EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon head women's basketball coach Kelly Graves announced Monday the addition of 5-foot-7 transfer guard Kennedi Williams, who spent four seasons starring at Liberty, to the Ducks' 2023-24 roster.
Williams, a native of Douglasville, Ga., appeared in all 124 games in her four seasons as a Flame. She started 33 contests in 2022-23 and led the team in assists in each of the last three seasons. Her 144 assists this past season were the most turned in by a Flame since the 1997-98 season while her 4.6 assists a game were good for sixth in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Additionally, Williams averaged 7.6 points per game while shooting 54.2 percent from the field to go with 2.1 rebounds a contest last season. Williams helped guide Liberty to a 24-9 record (16-2 ASUN) and a No. 2 seed in the ASUN Tournament, where the Flames reached the conference title game for the third time in four seasons and earned an invitation to the 2023 WNIT.
Williams authored three 20-point scoring efforts last season, with a career-high 24 coming in an 88-78 overtime win over ASUN champion Florida Gulf Coast. She went 9-for-14 from the field while dishing out six assists and grabbing three boards. In a 66-54 win at Washington on Dec. 18, Williams dished out a career-high nine assists.
In 124 career games with the Flames (60 starts), Williams tallied 562 points, 397 assists, 167 rebounds and shot 44.4 percent from the field. Over her four seasons, Williams' teams went a combined 91-33 (.734) with a 53-13 (.803) conference record with a pair of WNIT berths.
Williams played her prep ball at Greater Atlanta Christian School, collecting 511 assists and leading the Spartans to four consecutive state final four appearances. She averaged 14.4 points, 6.2 assists and 3.7 steals per game her senior year and ranked No. 3 in the state of Georgia at 7.0 assists a game as a junior.
Williams will join the nation's 18th-ranked recruiting class for next season, according to espnW. The class includes three four-star players ranked in espnW's top 100 in Sofia Bell (No. 26), Sammie Wagner (No. 42) and Sarah Rambus (No. 66). The Ducks also added Lane College transfer Bella Hamel, the Northwest Athletic Conference player of the year.

Graves on Williams: We are thrilled to add a player of Kennedi's caliber to our roster. She brings a lot of experience and maturity to our locker room. She's won a lot of games at the Division I level and has a level of competitiveness that will push us to get better every day. She possesses a great ability to find the open teammate and is always looking to distribute the basketball. She will be a great example for a young roster and we can't wait for her to be a Duck.
